To The Storyteller Poem

To The Storyteller

Spin us a tale, tell us a rhyme,
What happened “Once upon a time”?
Give us a ballad, sing us a lay
Of kings and princes far, far away.
Spin us a yarn, tell us a story
Of battles and kingdoms and warriors’ glory
Of princesses cursed, awaiting a kiss
Of lands full of laughter, beauty, and bliss
Of forests enchanted and wild bright lions
Of adventures braved by daring young scions
Of war and of peace, of love and of hate
Of apples in Eden that Adam once ate
Of sparrows in flight and fish in the sea
Of volcanic eruptions and mountains’ majesty
Tell us! Tell us! Please – tell us all!
Hurry, do hurry! Speak swiftly and clear
For our bedtimes draw ever and ever so near –
Spin us a tale, tell us a rhyme,
What happened “Once upon a time”?

Story 3 : prologue

Clara carefully climbed the large rock trying not to look down into the freezing rushing water for fear that she might fall in before she had mustered up enough courage to jump in. To complete the dare given to her by her brother Daniel and prove to him that she was not a "cowardly lion".

As he had become accustomed to calling her as a snarky nickname. Before she could leap off their mother came barreling down the grassy hill waving her hands. Lifting her skirt she spirited to where

Clara's brother stood "Daniel take Clara and run to the Taylors tell them I sent you they'll know what to do."

She must have seen the confusion on there faces because she knelt down and put one slender hand on each of their shoulders pulling them both in for a tight hug.

"If I could explain what was happening I would." Before releasing them she looked at Clara and her brother over as if committing their every feature to memory.

"I love you both." She whispered as she softly nudged them toward the neighbor's house.
